The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) welcomed nursing educators and administrators from across the country to the Standards in Action Workshop held June 11–12, 2026, in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Designed as an advanced application workshop, Standards in Action provided participants with practical strategies for interpreting and applying the ACEN 2023 Standards and Criteria. Through interactive learning activities, collaborative discussions, and hands-on exercises, attendees strengthened their skills in self-study preparation, assessment planning, data-informed decision-making, and site visit readiness.
The workshop received overwhelmingly positive feedback from participants. Nearly all attendees rated their overall experience positively, with 97% reporting an “Excellent” or “Good” experience. Additionally, 91% strongly agreed that the content was relevant to their nursing education practice, and 99% expressed satisfaction with the expertise of the presenters.
Participants highlighted the workshop's interactive format, practical application, and opportunities for collaboration.
One attendee shared, “The workshop was interactive and allowed us to actively participate in our own plan within our program. Overall, this was a fantastic event.”
Another noted, “Event was fantastic and I learned so much. Thank you! 10/10 recommend to anyone seeking and/or ACEN accredited.”
Attendees also praised the workshop materials and small-group learning environment, which fostered meaningful discussion and the exchange of ideas among peers.
The Standards in Action Workshop reflects ACEN's ongoing commitment to supporting nursing education programs through professional development opportunities that promote quality, continuous improvement, and accreditation readiness.
